Phoenixville’s police chief, William Mossman, will leave his post after 25 years. Chief Mossman will retire from Phoenixville on September 12th to take over the same role in East Coventry Township. Mossman said that he always planned on leaving Phoenixville after this year. Mossman was hired 1991 and two years later was promoted to sergeant. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in public safety management both from Saint Joseph’s University. Mossman also graduated from the FBI National Academy. Among other work, Mossman serves as a Vice President of the Chester County Chief of Police Association.
