A West Chester University teacher will be heading to Rio, but not as a spectator. Margaret Ottley serves as a professor of sport and exercise psychology and kinesiology at WCU and counseled the U.S. Olympic track and field team at an Elite Athlete Retreat in Los Angeles. Ottley also served on the USATF Olympic medal team during the 2008 games in Beijing and also at the Elite Athlete Retreat in Miami prior to the London Olympics in 2012. Ottley also worked with the U.S. track and field teams at the International Association of Athletics Federation World Youth Championship located in Morocco. In addition to helping with the U.S. team, Ottley also assisted the Trinidad and Tobago elite teams in the London Olympics and the 2004 games in Greece. Among her list of accomplishments, Ottley served as one of only two sports psychologists working with the U.S. track and field team during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
